Treat each Echo State encounter as a route segment, then change one line at a time while racing your previous ghost.

Use Echo State to solve one route segment, not as a panic button. The official description says it slows time and turns enemy takedowns into explosive speed. Before activating it, identify the enemy that gives you the best exit line and the surface or corridor where the speed burst should land.

Practice without guessing

1. Complete the level once without chasing a medal. Learn where combat interrupts movement and where the course offers more than one line.
2. Pick one Echo State section. Decide which enemy ends the slowdown and where the burst should carry you.
3. Run the same section against your recorded ghost. Watch the first place the ghost gains distance; that is the segment to change.
4. Test one shortcut or one different takedown order. Changing several decisions at once hides which one produced the improvement.
5. Keep the route only if it remains controllable. The game explicitly allows health-for-momentum risk, so a line that repeatedly dies before the checkpoint is not yet a faster completion.

Instant restart exists for iteration, but finishing an imperfect run can still reveal the next obstacle. Restart early when you are measuring a known segment; continue when you are still mapping the course. Tiered medals and the global leaderboard are outcome checks, not instructions for how to drive the rig.
