What to know before you play
Wuthering Waves is KURO GAMES' free-to-play open-world action RPG. You play as Rover, explore Solaris-3, recruit Resonators, and form teams whose abilities work together in fast combat. Movement includes wall-running, aerial travel, and the expedition motorbike; combat uses dodges, counters, character swaps, Forte abilities, and Echo Skills collected from defeated Tacet Discords.
The game is available on Windows through Kuro's launcher, Steam, and Epic Games Store; on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; and on iOS, Android, and Apple-silicon Macs. Steam released April 28, 2025 and requires a Kuro Games account that can link to the Steam account. The Xbox store released its version July 9, 2026 and also lists PC and cloud play.
Who it suits
Wuthering Waves suits players who enjoy open-world exploration, timing-focused action combat, team building, and a long-running story updated in versions. Character and weapon acquisition use rotating Convene banners and in-app purchases, so players who dislike gacha progression should account for that before investing time.
Current update: Version 3.6
Version 3.6, Lamplight in Mirage, Sword's Resolve in Heart, launched August 20, 2026. Its official list adds Qingxiao, Jingran, their two five-star weapons, Xuanyuan Domain, Calamity Effigy, two main-story entries, and the Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis Tactical Hologram. The iOS listing reached maintenance build 3.6.2 on August 29 with another crash fix. Denia's Hologram, Cloud Ride, and the Xuanfang exploration events belong to Version 3.5 and are not part of this 3.6 summary.
