NBA 2K27 Platforms and Crossplay Matrix: PS5, Xbox, PC

AT A GLANCE

PS5 and Xbox Series X|S share the confirmed gameplay pool; the MyTEAM Auction House follows a different platform split that also includes Switch 2.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are the only confirmed NBA 2K27 gameplay crossplay pair. Steam PC and Nintendo Switch 2 are separate game versions and do not join that pool. The MyTEAM Auction House is different: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 share one card market, while PC has a separate market.

NBA 2K27 platform and crossplay matrix

Take-Two lists a September 4, 2026 release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Use both right-hand columns before choosing a platform: gameplay crossplay answers whether friends can enter the same supported online session, while the Auction House column answers where MyTEAM card listings are shared.

“Not in the current official list” is the precise old-generation answer. It does not mean 2K has promised never to release another version later.

Can these two platforms play together?

The “same Auction House” answers only whether the systems see the same MyTEAM card listings. It does not turn a No in the gameplay column into a Yes. This matters most for PS5/Switch 2 and Xbox/Switch 2 pairs: those players share card supply and pricing, but 2K does not place them in the same gameplay crossplay pool.

What PS5 and Xbox can do together

2K says PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can use cross-platform play in co-op matches and online tournaments. Its MyCAREER announcement applies the same PS5/Xbox-only boundary to the two-player Running Mate feature. The invited player must own NBA 2K27.

Both players need the game on a supported console, an NBA 2K Account and internet access. 2K also states that console online play requires the platform's separate paid subscription. See MyCAREER Eras and co-op for the Running Mate-specific rules.

What PC and Switch 2 buyers should decide

• Choose Steam PC only if the people you intend to play with are also on PC. The official crossplay statement does not connect PC gameplay to any console, and the PC Auction House is separate.
• Choose Switch 2 for the Switch 2 version itself, not as a route into PS5/Xbox matches. It shares those consoles' MyTEAM Auction House, but not their confirmed gameplay crossplay pool.
• Choose PS5 or Xbox Series X|S when a mixed PlayStation/Xbox friend group is the deciding factor. Those are the only two systems 2K explicitly connects for gameplay.

A store's “online multiplayer” label confirms that its own version has online modes; it does not expand the cross-platform pair named by 2K.
