Badge slots and Tokens
Every build starts with 20 Badge slots split across six disciplines: Shooting, Finishing, Playmaking, Defense, Rebounding, and Physicals. The slots are available immediately, but Badge Tokens are required to equip Badges in them. The Builder shows, in real time, how selected size, position, and attributes affect Badge eligibility and token cost.
2K lists 53 Badges, including 19 new ones. It also says Tokens earned through in-game events remain tied to their discipline, while Bonus Slots and Bonus Tokens can apply to any discipline. The official material does not rank Badge combinations.
Synergy: 16 Fuse and Reaction slots
The Synergy system has 16 slots: 12 give a +1 boost and four give a +2 boost. It pairs Fuse and Reaction Badges.
- A Fuse Badge has its +1 or +2 boost for the whole game. Putting a Badge in a Fuse slot also frees the Badge Tokens otherwise used to equip it.
- A paired Reaction Badge gets the same boost for the rest of the game once its Fuse Badge has been activated the required number of times.
2K says Synergy can reach Legend-tier Badges. It does not rank Fuse–Reaction pairings, so this reference does not recommend one.
Build Specialization tracks
Build Specialization uses the same six disciplines: Shooting, Finishing, Playmaking, Defense, Rebounding, and Physicals. Each track has 10 objective-based quests. 2K says the tracks award exclusive cosmetics and Cap Breakers; its Newsroom announcement also identifies a permanent Synergy Slot upgrade at Level 10, while the detailed Builder report describes that final reward as a permanent +2 Badge Synergy reward.
