MyNBA Legacy is a single-player, player-locked dynasty mode; the broader game also separates MyCAREER, The City, MyTEAM, and standard on-court play.
Choose MyNBA Legacy if you want a single-player, player-locked dynasty. Choose MyCAREER for a created player and story, The City for the shared social and competitive space, and MyTEAM for card collection and lineup modes. These systems overlap in basketball, but they do not have the same progression or multiplayer rules.
MyNBA Legacy begins with a player from the Modern Era. You earn experience to improve that player's attributes and badges while the dynasty can run across a 100-year frame. It sits between controlling one athlete and managing the league, rather than functioning as a MyCAREER story.
The City includes The REC, Theater, Street Kings, Park, Proving Grounds, Ante-Up, Starting Five, Crew HQ, Casual Corner, and Daily Rivals. Female MyPLAYERs are supported throughout City modes under the same build framework as male MyPLAYERs. Casual Corner is aimed at rookies; its label should not be converted into a promise of easy matchmaking before launch behavior is known.
MyTEAM adds a revised Exchange, redesigned Play tab, rotating multiplayer modes, player XP, new card discovery, and a unified auction house across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. A shared auction house does not expand the separately stated PS5/Xbox crossplay boundary.
For career-specific rules, use MyCAREER Eras and co-op. For build planning, use MyPLAYER Builder and Badge Tokens.
