Memoirium Beginner Guide — Gear, Consumables and First Run
A careful first-run checklist for learning Memoirium’s unusual item rules before committing to a build or trusting a copied soulslike route.

The best Memoirium beginner guide is a measurement plan, not a borrowed Dark Souls build. The official Steam description says that masks and equipment can change abilities and even the entities you encounter, while consumables replenish at certain points. Your first run should therefore preserve the evidence that tells you what changed.
First room checklist
- Record the build number, room name, starting mask, armor, weapon, and off-hand.
- Capture the visible effect text for each item before entering the next encounter.
- Use one consumable and note whether the game shows a replenishment rule, a checkpoint, or no visible explanation.
- If you find a duplicate item, capture its level or effect before and after the pickup.
- Return to the same room after one loadout change and compare the enemy behavior or status result.
One-variable gear tests
| Test | Keep fixed | Change | Record | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Mask behavior | room, enemy, armor | mask | approach, attack, or visible status difference | | Status duration | room, enemy, mask | armor | start/end of the negative effect | | Duplicate upgrade | item type and save | duplicate pickup | effect text and cap language | | Consumable timing | route and checkpoint | one use | when or whether it returns |
The store page confirms that these systems exist, but it does not publish the thresholds. A screenshot and a second run are more reliable than a confident number copied from a different soulslike.
Avoid two common first-run mistakes
Do not lock a mask to a tier list. If a mask changes which entities you meet, the value depends on the encounter and the route. Keep the old mask until you can explain what the new one changes.
Do not assume “replenishes” means infinite. The official description says items return at certain points and that duplicate finds improve them up to a limit. It does not say every item returns after every room or that upgrades have no cap.
What still needs testing
The public sources do not establish a fixed first-room path, complete mask interactions, exact consumable checkpoints, duplicate upgrade values, boss counters, or ending triggers. Those should become future pages only after current-build screenshots and repeatable saves exist.

Quick answers
What should I do first in Memoirium?
Learn the current room, record your starting equipment, and test one mask or armor change before chasing a fixed build. The public store page does not establish a universal opening route.
Should I save every consumable?
The official description says consumables replenish at certain points, but it does not publish when. Use one controlled test and record the replenishment point instead of hoarding everything or spending blindly.
How do duplicate items upgrade in Memoirium?
The store says repeated finds can improve an item up to a limit. Record the item screen before and after a duplicate; exact upgrade values need current-build evidence.
