E-Shop Tycoon Beginner Guide — Build a Baseline Before You Scale

Establish one measurable operating baseline, then spend only where the current bottleneck is visible.

The first baseline

Before expanding, record one normal operating cycle:

| Measure | What to note | Why | | --- | --- | --- | | Orders | Orders received and completed | Shows demand before marketing noise | | Stock | Products unavailable or delayed | Identifies purchasing or warehouse friction | | Staff | Department and visible morale/productivity | Prevents hiring without a workload | | Cash | Starting and ending balance | Makes an upgrade decision testable | | Reputation | Change after normal events | Separates growth from a lucky event |

Fix one bottleneck at a time

If orders exist but products are missing, investigate purchasing and warehouse flow before buying office decoration. If orders are low, examine marketing and demand. If work is queued while stock is available, inspect staffing. This is a diagnostic loop, not a claim about hidden formulas.

Keep event decisions reversible

The Steam description explicitly mentions industry events and marketing crises. When an event appears, record the prompt, the options, and the visible result. Do not copy an outcome from another patch without the event text and date.

What remains unverified

The public listing does not publish a complete cost table, employee productivity formula, or guaranteed first-day upgrade path. Those values belong in a later, build-stamped update.

Do not use a pre-launch route for the current build

The developer’s 1.0.6 hotfix added office-specific loan options, changed interest and repayment duration, improved forklift packaging speed, and fixed invalid orders and delivery-station timers. That means a “best first loan” or “fastest shipping layout” written before 1.0.6 is not automatically current. Record the patch beside every financial recommendation.

A useful first-session screenshot set

Capture the new-company screen, the first office/warehouse layout, the first sales report, and one order that reaches the delivery station. Those four frames create a baseline another player can reproduce; a generic list of “hire staff and market your store” cannot.

Quick answers

What should I upgrade first in E-Shop Tycoon?

There is no verified universal order because costs, balance, and your current bottleneck matter. Measure where orders, stock, staff, or reputation are failing first.

Is E-Shop Tycoon mainly a warehouse game?

No. The Steam description also covers staff, office design, marketing, events, and crises. Warehouse flow is one connected system, not the whole game.
