Far Far West Game — Frostburn, Co-op, and Early Access Guide

Far Far West is a Windows PC Early Access shooter for one to four players. Its Frostburn update launched August 27, 2026 as version 0.2.0.2, followed by hotfix 0.2.0.4. The update is the reason this older April release returned to Steam's US Top Sellers chart: it changes progression, combat options, exploration, maps, and balance at the same time.

What Frostburn changes first

Weapon fragments were converted into universal Blueprints. Players collect the shared currency during missions and spend it in the lobby to unlock weapons directly. In-mission purchases now use Uranium rather than long-term Gold; unused Uranium becomes character and weapon XP at the end of a mission. Lighthouses reveal unique locations after their minigame, reducing the need to recognize hidden structures from their minimap silhouette.

Combat adds Knuckles, Lasso, and Banjo melee options, shield points, the Frost element, and five disclosed Frost spells. The map package includes three Jungle quests and a secret, plus the new Hellfire map with three quests and a hidden secret. The update also recodes part of enemy AI, adds Discord Rich Presence, changes many Joker values, and fixes more than 100 listed issues.

The developer targets roughly a 12-month Early Access period and says the eventual 1.0 price should increase as content expands. That is a plan, not a guaranteed launch date. The current game already includes its core loop, co-op, customization, and side missions; exact build rankings should still be tied to a named patch because Frostburn materially changed damage, lifesteal, slots, currencies, and map discovery.
