GAME INTRODUCTION
What to know before you play
Crazy Taxi: World Tour is a new 2027 driving-action game, not a remaster of the 1999 release. SEGA is building a solo World Tour campaign around Axel, five cities, missions, vehicle customization, and a returning timed Arcade Mode. The retail Steam page also lists multiplayer PvP and cross-platform multiplayer.
The immediate US opportunity is the free Closed Network Test. Applications close August 31 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific, and the test runs September 11 at 5:00 p.m. through September 13 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific. It covers multiplayer only and does not transfer save data into the retail game.

Keep test facts separate from retail facts
The network test is a development build made to test multiplayer stability. Its Windows requirements, 12 GB download, two maps, six cars, four characters, online-only rule, and lack of save transfer apply to that test. SEGA explicitly warns that final PC requirements and features may differ.
That distinction matters because current searches mix “beta requirements” with “final PC requirements” and “beta crossplay” with the retail feature set. Each page in this dossier labels which build its answer describes.
