What closed registration means
The official test page no longer offers an open registration route. It still says the test is intended to evaluate multiplayer stability before release, and selected participants may be asked to complete a web survey during the test.
Nintendo Switch 2 is named for the full version, but it is not one of the four network-test platforms. SEGA does not list PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or the original Nintendo Switch for this test.
Applying did not guarantee a place
SEGA says that prior applications are assessed using multiple factors, including platform, region, capacity, technical requirements, random draws, community-program participation, and other operational considerations. Activity in the official Crazy Taxi Discord can provide Priority Access, but SEGA explicitly says that this raises the chance of an invitation rather than guaranteeing one.
For the published test, SEGA also says an Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus subscription is not required. That statement applies to the network test only; it is not a statement of the retail game's online-subscription policy.
