What to know before you play
Whisper of the House is a single-player organizing and decorating game developed by GD Studio. You work as Whisper Town's all-around housekeeper, taking requests to move residents into homes, clear clutter, prepare shops, arrange keepsakes, and find missing cats. Completing those jobs earns rewards and furniture for a home of your own, while objects and rooms reveal the town's quieter mysteries.
The Steam edition released for Windows and macOS on August 27, 2025. The separate PS5 edition released one year later, on August 27, 2026. Steam credits GD Studio and LoongGate as publishers; the US PlayStation Store credits E-Home Entertainment Development Company Ltd. for the PS5 product.
What you actually do
Housekeeping requests form the main loop. You pick up, move, sort, and place objects according to a resident's practical needs or your own design choices. Interactive furniture adds small responses and sounds: the official examples include a gramophone, bath duck, tissue box, drums, camera, and running tap.
The rooms also carry story information. A kept object, unfinished corner, photograph, letter, or strange detail can say something about its owner or point toward Whisper Town's larger mystery. This is the basis of the developer's “cozy snooping” description: observation supports the story, but the official material does not turn that premise into a published walkthrough.
