Axion Plains unlocks through a two-part main quest. Part 1 follows the Fortress zone main quest; Part 2 requires Mastery Rank 15 and completion of the Sigma Sector main quest.

Axion Plains is a Hard-Difficulty battlefield with multiple missions. Progress the Axion main quest rather than looking for a direct world-map teleport on an account that has not met the story requirements.
Why Axion Plains still matters in Season 4
- Sigma Sector: Isolated Desert (High-risk) drops Raven's pattern, Complex Filament Seeds, and her two exclusive modules.
- Several Axion activities drop Transcendent Weapons in published Quality ranges.
- Karel's Mothership can be entered through a Tactical Transport Control NPC placed in Axion Plains after Normal is unlocked.
- Current operational missions and events can send players back into the region.
If the High-risk activity is missing
- Confirm both parts of the Axion Plains main quest are complete.
- Confirm Mastery Rank 15 was reached for Part 2.
- Finish the Sigma Sector story requirement.
- Check the selected difficulty and the current map layer.
- Update and reconnect if a Season 4 mission marker is missing.
The 2025 demo was temporary and is not the current unlock path. A demo-participation guide should not be used to diagnose the live region.
Do not use one unlock as proof of another
Axion Plains access, High-risk difficulty, and Karel's Mothership are connected but separate checks. A player can own the battlefield route while still missing the selected difficulty, Season 4 story completion, or the mega-dungeon's first-clear gate. Read the disabled activity's tooltip and compare that exact requirement with the table above before replaying an unrelated quest line. This avoids the common mistake of treating Mastery Rank 15 as the only gate for every Season 4 activity.
