GAME INTRODUCTION

What to know before you play

Pokémon TCG Pocket is a free-to-start iOS and Android game for opening packs, collecting digital cards, trading with friends, displaying collections, and playing simplified battles. Its permanent value on this site is not a frozen tier list; it is a maintained path through expansion timing, trading eligibility, account transfer, subscription ownership, and device support.

Choose the answer you need

Why this is a major mobile topic

Google Play displayed more than 50 million downloads and about 1.78 million reviews during the August check. Apple's United States listing displayed roughly 671,000 ratings, a 4.8 average, and an Editors' Choice designation. The App Store description also says the app has players in 150 countries and regions and more than 200 million downloads worldwide.

Those figures establish scale, but they do not answer a player problem. The support surface does: trading unlocks after 14 days and is limited to friends; a save must be linked before device transfer; Premium Pass rights attach to the Apple or Google platform account; and supported hardware has explicit OS, memory, architecture, and GPU boundaries.

Current expansion boundary

The Pokémon Company announced Team Rocket's Ambition for August 26 at 6:00 p.m. PDT, or August 27 at 01:00 UTC. The announcement confirms a Team Rocket theme, Pokémon and Trainer cards, upcoming accessories, a puzzle challenge, and a schedule of events. On August 24, it does not yet establish the complete live card pool, pull distribution, best deck, or matchup table.

That is why the first expansion page is a release-time answer. Once the expansion is live, the next editorial step is to capture the in-app card list and rules, name the version and test evidence, then publish individual deck or card answers only where they solve a real query.

Trading, sharing, and collecting are different actions

Trading is a two-sided exchange with a friend and imposes eligibility, rarity, stamina, and Shinedust rules. Sharing is a separate feature for giving eligible cards. Display boards and binders show a collection without transferring ownership. A guide that collapses all three into “send a card” will misdiagnose disabled buttons and missing cards.

Use the current in-app Detailed trade list as the source of truth for eligible cards. The service can change the list with new expansions and rules, while an old static article cannot update the button state on your account.

Account and purchase safety

Link save data before changing devices. Pokémon Support warns that deleted save data cannot be restored and that uninstalling after deleting or without linking can make recovery impossible. Poké Gold transfers across operating systems according to the current FAQ.

Premium Pass requires a second check because renewal belongs to the Apple Account or Google Account used for the subscription. Moving the save does not move the store charge. Uninstalling the app and deleting a save also do not cancel renewal. The pass page gives the exact ownership boundary before a user creates duplicate subscriptions.

What this package deliberately withholds

There is no Team Rocket's Ambition tier list before launch, no invented pull-rate table, and no “best deck” built from announcement images. The physical Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pocket also have different rules. Any future strategy page must name the Pocket card text, expansion, live rule set, tested match sample, and update date.
