FAST ANSWER

Trading works only with friends after the feature unlocks, and the current in-app list decides whether a card, rarity, language, flair, and expansion are eligible.

Pokémon TCG Pocket trading is limited to friends and unlocks 14 days after a player starts. Only one trade can be active at a time, and the app's current detailed list decides which cards can be offered. If a button is disabled, check eligibility before treating it as a service failure.

Trade checklist

  1. Add the other player as a friend.
  2. Confirm both accounts have passed the 14-day unlock.
  3. Open Social Hub → Trade.
  4. Make sure neither player already has an active trade and the recipient has not suspended offers.
  5. Open ? → Detailed trade list and verify the card is currently eligible.
  6. Match the required rarity. If one card has flair or a gold frame, the offered counterpart must meet the corresponding rule.
  7. Review the displayed stamina and Shinedust cost before confirming.

Why a card does not appear

The selection screen filters the collection for the specific offer. A wishlisted card can still be unavailable if it is outside the current detailed trade list. A duplicated card appearing in multiple expansions may need an expansion selected through Edit Card. The same edit path chooses language and flair.

Do not copy a permanent Shinedust table from an old article. Pokémon Support directs players to the in-app About trade rules screen because the amount varies with rarity and can be updated. The app displays the cost before completion.

Why the trade itself is disabled

  • The player has not reached the 14-day unlock.
  • One participant already has an active trade.
  • The recipient suspended incoming trade offers.
  • The service temporarily suspended trading because too many people are using it.
  • The selected card or counterpart does not satisfy current eligibility.

If the service suspends trading, wait and retry. Pokémon Support says active trades can resume when service returns; expired incomplete trades restore consumed stamina, cards, and items. Canceling normally also returns the committed resources.

Trade history contains the 30 most recent trades from the previous 90 days. Use that screen to confirm completion rather than relying only on a changed collection count.
