Players can squad across platforms, but every platform keeps a separate diver and entitlement history.
Helldivers 2 supports crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It does not support cross-save, cross-progression, cross-buy, account merging, or item transfer.
Crossplay means the platforms can join one squad. It does not mean one diver profile follows the player. Buying another platform copy starts a separate progression record, and DLC, Warbonds, commemorative rewards, preorder armor, and other account-bound items remain with the original platform account.
Arrowhead also says linking Steam and PlayStation accounts does not copy PS5 data into Steam or the reverse. Support cannot merge two accounts or grant old items to a new account after a move.
Before buying again, decide whether playing with a different device is worth restarting progression. If the goal is only to play with friends on another platform, crossplay already supports that from the existing copy. Keep friend-code and privacy settings separate from save expectations.
