There is no offline mode; squad size is four and console service rules apply.
Helldivers 2 is online only and supports squads of up to four players. It has no documented offline campaign. PS5 online play requires PlayStation Plus; Steam players do not need PS Plus. Xbox players should check the current Xbox store requirement for their account and region.
Solo deployment still uses the online service. “Playing alone” is therefore not the same as an offline mode: the Galactic War state, missions, account progression, and service connection remain active.
Crossplay can connect PC, PS5, and Xbox players, but subscription and ownership are handled by each platform. A PlayStation Plus Game Catalog entitlement also differs from permanent ownership and can depend on the title remaining in the catalog.
