How phantom jobs are acquired, leveled, equipped, and changed in Patch 7.55.
Phantom jobs are unlocked with soul shards purchased from an island vendor or obtained in critical encounters. Patch 7.55 adds Blue Mage, Red Mage, and Necromancer soul shards to the North Horn pool.
How progression works
- A phantom job is supplemental to the player's main combat job.
- Phantom EXP raises that phantom job's separate level.
- Learned phantom actions are registered in the Phantom Action Panel.
- Phantom Action slots I–V automatically switch to the actions selected for the active phantom job.
Outside combat and restricted conditions, open the Occult Crescent HUD, choose Phantom Job Details, select Change Phantom Job, and pick from the Phantom Job Repertoire.
The official notes define acquisition and switching but not a universal best job for every encounter. Tower compositions and action priorities depend on group roles and live mechanics.
