GAME INTRODUCTION
What to know before you play

Echoes of Aincrad is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC through Steam. It is a single-player action RPG: you create the player hero and fight beside AI-controlled partners, not online teammates.
Pick the answer you need
- Release date, platforms, current US price, and demo status.
- Why the game is single-player and how partners work.
- Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Edition contents.
- Minimum, recommended, SSD, and performance targets on PC.
- Character creation, six weapons, stats, EX-Mods, and partner tactics.
- A practical first-session route based on Bandai Namco's released-game guide.
- Demo save transfer and the Death Game Mode save-deletion rule.
- Version 1.0.5 balance changes, fixes, and the planned extra difficulty.
What the game actually asks you to manage
Weapons act like classes. Sword and shield are balanced; the axe and two-handed sword trade safety for heavier attacks; daggers emphasize speed and short range; rapiers combine reach and chaining; maces pressure defenses. Repeated use earns Weapon EXP and unlocks Sword Skills, while the blacksmith handles upgrades, crafting, synthesis, and EX-Mod transfer.
Your character also has conventional level growth. Growth Points raise attributes, and each weapon or skill scales from particular stats. Cardinal Rank is broader progression: it changes merchant and smith inventory, partner growth, monster strength, and the quality of dropped items. That is why raising rank without spending points or improving equipment can make the next quest feel unexpectedly harder.
Partners are not decorative. Support Skills can heal, buff, or hinder enemies; Combination Skills spend an earned opportunity on a coordinated attack; Switch Mode can redirect attention; Free Mode can focus a target or clear several enemies. The useful build question is therefore “which weapon, stats, and partner behavior support this quest?” rather than a context-free best weapon.

There is no Player Guidebook review score here. Store features, official guides, and patch notes can establish what the game includes; they cannot substitute for a hands-on verdict. Likewise, “how many floors” and complete boss routes remain unpublished until a source proves the exact released-game scope and route.
