Echoes of Aincrad Demo Save Transfer and Death Game Mode

Same-platform demo data can transfer once prompted, but that imported save cannot become a Death Game run; defeat in Death Game Mode erases its save.

Demo save data transfers only to the full game on the same platform. A transferred demo save cannot be converted to Death Game Mode, and defeat in Death Game Mode deletes that character's save.

Transfer the demo save

1. Keep the demo save installed on the same PS5, Xbox Series, or PC platform where the full game will run.
2. Update the full game. Bandai Namco says transfer remains possible after applying the update even if the first launch happened earlier.
3. Accept the carry-over prompt the first time it appears.
4. If “Do not carry over” was already confirmed, the prompt will not simply return. Bandai Namco's recovery method is to delete all full-game save slots and create a new full-game save; do not delete the separate demo data.

All demo slots transfer together. The official page also warns that some demo specifications differ from the full version.

Death Game Mode boundary

Standard owners unlock Death Game Mode after completing the story. Deluxe and Ultimate include an early unlock. When the character dies in this mode, its save is erased and cannot be reused. Exiting normally, deliberately returning to the title screen, or losing power does not count as the defeat condition described by Bandai Namco.

An imported demo save cannot switch into Death Game Mode. If the mode is unlocked, select it while creating a second or later save slot. Do not buy an edition only for early access to the mode while assuming the imported character can be converted.
