Red Horizon is the live Year 8 Season 3 update and also the label on optional paid packages, so season access must be separated from bundle ownership.
The Division 2: Red Horizon launched August 27, 2026. Base-game owners can use the live seasonal systems and progress the free reward track without buying the $29.99 Bundle or $49.99 Supply Drop. Paid products add premium rewards, missions, boosts, cosmetics, tier skips, or Premium Credits; they do not replace the required base game.
What “free season” means
Ubisoft lists an optional Premium Season Pass and a separate free track. The free track includes Iron Will, Fafnir, two named weapons, four named gear items, caches, cosmetics, and other progression rewards. The Under Pressure modifier system, seasonal Cleaner presence, gear balancing, Dark Zone changes, and quality-of-life updates arrive through the live season update rather than through a $49.99 admission product.
The word “free” does not mean standalone. You still need a supported copy of The Division 2 and its current update. Platform access, online subscriptions where required, and account rules continue to apply.

The two Classified Assignments are District Mall Inferno, available August 27, and Georgetown Dead Zone, scheduled for October 15. Ubisoft says the Assignments unlock at level 30 and appear in the dedicated map tab when available.
What not to buy twice
If you already own the Premium Season Pass, Ubisoft says buying either paid package returns 1,000 Premium Credits in game. There are also compensation rules when a Bundle owner buys the Supply Drop. Read the Bundle versus Supply Drop comparison before purchasing through an in-game notification.
