The season's new gear connects Burn and headshot mechanics while changing Determined, Brand Set additions, and the Steel & Sons ACR.
Red Horizon adds the Fafnir Exotic Shotgun, Iron Will Exotic Chest, Ember Engine Gear Set, four named gear pieces, two named weapons, and the Boiling Point talent. Ubisoft lists Fafnir and Iron Will on the free season track. The update also changes Determined so converted headshot kills no longer create an endless guaranteed-headshot chain.
Fafnir Exotic Shotgun
Fafnir's Dragon's Breath shells have a published 40% chance to apply Burn. Its weapon damage is amplified by half of the player's Status Effect bonus. The listed mods add 15% Critical Hit Chance, five rounds, and 10% Weapon Handling.
Ubisoft cautions that normal Status Effect diminishing returns still affect Burn application. The displayed 40% chance therefore does not guarantee a visible Burn on four of every ten shots against every target.
Iron Will Exotic Chest
Iron Will uses Resolved: the next body shot counts as a headshot, with a two-second PvE cooldown and three-second PvP cooldown. It requires an MMR, Rifle, or Pistol. This is where the converted-body-shot behavior now lives after the Determined change.
Determined still exists, but a kill caused by a converted headshot no longer triggers another guaranteed conversion. That prevents the previous body-shot chain while leaving Iron Will as the explicit alternative.

Spontaneous Combustion gives applied Status Effects a 40% chance to add Burn. If the original effect was already Burn, the enemy receives 25% additional Burn Damage for that Burn's duration. The Flashpoint chest raises the application chance to 60%; the White Hot backpack increases the Burn Damage debuff duration by 50%.

- Rushdown: Richter & Kaiser chest using Tag Team with a published 12-second active-cooldown reduction.
- Melon Baller: Airaldi backpack with Perfect Concussion.
- Keeper: 5.11 Tactical backpack with Perfect Protector.
- Teapot and Steamer: named weapons using Perfect Boiling Point.
The standard Boiling Point talent makes the first 53% of a magazine unable to crit and the remainder guaranteed to crit; the Perfect version moves that split to 48%. That description is the live talent contract, not a recommendation that it fits every weapon or activity.
