Modern Warfare 4 Editions and Preorder Bonuses

Digital Standard, Digital Vault, and Physical Standard have different bonus and upgrade rules; physical copies cannot use the digital Vault upgrade.

Modern Warfare 4 has Digital Standard, Digital Vault, and Physical Standard purchase paths. Choose based on the extras you actually want and whether you need a future digital upgrade—not on the word “Vault” alone.

Digital preorders include beta early access and the Hunter Killer skin. Vault Edition adds its published operator and weapon content plus the other named digital benefits in Activision's current offer. A digital Standard owner may buy the listed $30 Vault upgrade on the same platform. Activision excludes physical copies from that upgrade path.

The loyalty offer is narrower than it first appears. Eligible owners of specified recent Call of Duty games can receive 10% off a direct digital Vault Edition purchase on the same platform through October 23. The discount does not apply to the $30 upgrade. Account, region, storefront, and qualifying ownership still matter at checkout.

Before paying, check four things:

• the buying account is the account that will play;
• the edition and any upgrade are on the same platform family;
• the desired item is actually named in Activision's edition table;
• the storefront displays the expected discount before payment.

No edition creates launch-day Game Pass access; Activision says the game is not planned for Game Pass at launch. See release date and platforms for that boundary and beta rewards for items earned through play instead of purchase.
