What the game is about
Three years after leaving Team X, Logan returns when Bolivar Trask begins kidnapping mutants. The official story sends Wolverine through Canada, Tokyo, Madripoor, and other locations while confronting his past and working with mutants including Jean Grey. This is an original Insomniac and Marvel Games story rather than a direct adaptation of one comic or film.
Combat centers on adamantium-claw attacks, parries, Critical Strikes, swappable Techniques and Adaptations. Successful attacks, parries, and kills build Rage. Rage can strengthen attacks, trigger Healing Factor recovery, or reach a more extreme third tier. Official footage also shows stealth approaches and large scripted set pieces.
Insomniac's August 28 features briefing adds concrete launch boundaries: four Special Techniques can be equipped at once; dozens of Adaptations tune combat; Enhanced Senses help locate conversations, trails, and material crates; Nightmare Doors open combat and traversal challenges; whisky bottles recover memories; and suits and claw appearances can be crafted. New Game Plus, Mission Replay, Nightmare Challenges, and Photo Mode are also confirmed, with Photo Mode requiring the day-one update.
