How to Fish official Steam artwork

How to Fish Patch 1.0.9 adds Easy and Hard difficulty choices in the main menu and in-game. Default preserves the earlier balance. The update also adds a Steam-connection diagnostic and another fix intended to prevent corrupted saves.

VersionVerified change
1.0.9Easy: creatures have 25% less health and deal 50% less damage
1.0.9Hard: creatures have 25% more health and deal 25% more damage
1.0.9Steam relay text turns red when connection initialization fails
1.0.9Additional save-corruption fix
1.0.8PlayStation controller glyphs display correctly
1.0.8Fire sizzling now follows the FX volume slider

The save note is deliberately cautious: the announcement says the issue is “hopefully fixed.” Update first, but back up existing files before moving or replacing them. The patch does not state that every previously corrupted save can be repaired.

If Steam relay text turns red, treat it as a connection-initialization problem before changing game progress or boss strategy. For current local and Proton paths, use the save and manual transfer guide. For boss routes, return to How to Fish.
