WHAT CHANGED

The August 2026 update creates a new live-war frontier and changes mission structure inside the Void.

Helldivers 2: Devoid of Liberty is live. The update pushes the Illuminate war into the Void and adds transformed planets, new primary and secondary objectives, the Wretch and Crusher, secondary extraction opportunities, SEAF support squads, and progression through 300 ranks.

Inside the Void, operations can draw several randomized primary objectives rather than follow one fixed sequence. Official examples include tactical-camera reconnaissance, destroying Illuminate structures and mutations, gathering research material, and locating or opening another extraction zone.

The Wretch is a fast pressure enemy; the Crusher can absorb and regenerate damage. Those descriptions identify battlefield roles, but they do not prove a final counter-build. Weapon balance, planet modifiers, squad composition, and patches can change the answer.

The Gateway and Source Planet are part of a live Galactic War. A static page should not tell readers to select a planet that may no longer be available. Use the current in-game map for location and this page for the update's durable mechanics.
