Resonance is a new phase element in Girls' Frontline 2. When the game calculates phase damage, it uses the most advantageous damage-type formula available to Resonance; physical damage is explicitly excluded.
The new terms in one table

Where to see the values
Select a Doll in the Refitting Room and open View Details to inspect Phase Enhancement and Phase Resistance. The update notes one display caveat: a Doll's original Phase Resistance remains in effect but is not displayed in that View Details interface.
That means a missing displayed original value is not the same as the Doll losing the original resistance. It is a UI boundary documented by the patch, not a reason to recalculate the stat from guesswork.
Weakness and tile rules
Fixed Phase Weaknesses can be upgraded. As the relevant terrain-tile level rises, it removes more of the target's Phase Resistance. External Phase Weaknesses cannot be upgraded under the new rule.
Tile Transformation has two branches:
- Monophase Fusion occurs when multiple tiles with the same phase attribute overlap. It creates a stronger Fusion Tile and enhances the matching fixed phase weakness.
- Multiphase Fusion occurs when tiles with different phase attributes overlap. It creates a new Fusion Tile that inherits parts of its component tiles and adds new effects.
These rules explain why a phase interaction occurs. Team performance still depends on the Dolls' tested skills, enemy resistance, stage rules, and investment levels; the system definitions alone do not establish one universally best team.
