Buying either paid package digitally by September 30 grants an early unlock of the Sakai Armor on October 1. It is an early unlock, not exclusive armor: Sucker Punch says it can otherwise be unlocked by playing Most Wanted.
What the story trailer confirms
The expansion alternates between two periods of Atsu's life. Flashbacks show her fighting beside Nagato during the Battle of Sekigahara. In the present, Nagato arrives in Ezo as the Vipers—poachers once loyal to The Snake—take over the newly explorable Ashoro Foothills and abduct one of Atsu's close allies.
Sucker Punch confirms:
- Ashoro Foothills as a new area of Ezo;
- new enemy types and heavy weapons;
- new mythic tales and abilities;
- new armor sets and cosmetics; and
- a story centered on Atsu's past with Nagato and their reluctant present-day alliance.
Those facts define the expansion. Official sources do not yet provide its quest order, choice outcomes, or ending conditions.
Buying and free-update boundaries
Echoes and Most Wanted require Complete Edition or its owner upgrade. The Complete Edition buying guide separates content available immediately from the October unlock. The patch 2.0 guide lists the features every base-game owner receives without buying the expansion.
The content needs an internet connection and PlayStation account to download. Regional rollout also matters: Sucker Punch lists October 1 globally and October 2 in parts of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. An account in an October 2 territory should not treat the absence on October 1 as a failed entitlement.
