Eligible V-Bucks purchases can be canceled within 24 hours if unused, or returned within 30 days with a Return Ticket.
To refund an eligible Fortnite skin bought with V-Bucks, use Cancel Purchase within 24 hours if the item has not been used or equipped. After that, use a Return Ticket for an eligible purchase made within the last 30 days. Both routes remove the item and return its V-Bucks.
Refund route by purchase age
| Situation | Self-service option | Main limit |
|---|---|---|
| Bought within 24 hours and not used or equipped | Cancel Purchase | Each item can be canceled only once |
| Bought within the last 30 days | Return Ticket | Requires an available ticket and an eligible item |
| Older than 30 days | Neither standard option | Epic Support cannot add extra Return Tickets |
| Paid through a console or mobile store | Platform refund process | Epic cannot process the third-party payment |
How to return or cancel in Fortnite
- Open Fortnite.
- Select the Player Icon in the upper-right corner.
- Open the hamburger menu.
- Select Support and Refunds.
- Select Return or Cancel Purchase.
- Choose an eligible purchase.
- Review the result and confirm the return.
The same account can use the Fortnite Web Item Shop: sign in at the official shop, open the Player Icon, select Return and Cancel Purchases, then Show Purchases.
Cancel Purchase versus Return Ticket
Cancel Purchase protects a recent mistake without spending a ticket, but its window is short and using or equipping the item in a game mode removes the option. If Cancel Purchase is unavailable, a Return Ticket may still work for an eligible purchase within 30 days.
Epic says every account starts with three Return Tickets, receives one new ticket every 365 days, and can hold at most three. Support cannot grant an extra ticket after the normal balance is exhausted.
Purchases excluded from these options
Epic's current exclusion list includes:
- all passes, including limited-time event passes;
- pass levels and premium reward tracks;
- gifted purchases;
- Level Up Quest Packs;
- Save the World loot llamas, event items, and weekly items;
- purchases made inside developer-made islands.
Bundles are returned as a whole rather than one item at a time. Real-money purchases made through PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Apple, Google Play, or another payment provider follow that store's refund rules.
Why the refund option is missing
Check four things before contacting support: the purchase age, whether the cosmetic was used, whether a ticket remains, and whether the item category is eligible. A Battle Pass reward can still appear in the locker while being ineligible for a Return Ticket. If Epic displays a processing error, its support page says the selected item may not meet the refund conditions.
