Fable launches February 23, 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, and cloud. It is a single-player open-world action RPG, not a co-op game. Premium and Collector's Edition early access starts February 18, and the game is included with Game Pass Ultimate on day one.

What Fable is
Playground Games calls this a new beginning rather than a continuation of the Lionhead trilogy. The setting is still Albion, but locations and inhabitants are reimagined. Players create their own Hero, build a reputation, make moral choices, work as a blacksmith or landlord, form relationships, and raise a family.
Combat evolves the series' Strength, Skill, and Will structure. The August 2026 playable demo shown to press and creators allowed immediate switching among melee, ranged weapons, and magic. It documented actual controls, seven spells, two ranged weapons, and several enemy types, but it did not establish final balance or a universal best build.
