Dreamcards Controller Support and Performance — Current PC Checks

FIRST CHECK

The current Steam listing marks full controller support; if inputs or animations fail, verify the current build, Steam Input state, and minimum hardware before reporting a reproducible case.

Dreamcards currently lists full controller support on Steam, but a controller-specific archetype report and an animation-slowdown report show that individual interactions can still fail. Check the current full-release build and isolate the input or performance condition before applying generic fixes.

Controller checklist

1. Connect the controller before launching the game.
2. Confirm Steam recognizes it under Settings → Controller.
3. Open the game's Properties → Controller panel and record whether Steam Input is enabled, disabled, or using the default.
4. Test menu navigation and one normal card before testing the reported archetype interaction.
5. If only one card or drag action fails, record the exact card, controller model, button prompt, and whether mouse input still works.

The official Monster update added support for different controller types before release, and current Steam app data marks full controller support. That does not prove every card interaction is bug-free. A community report describes a controller problem with a specific archetype and drag action; treat it as a reproducible bug lead, not proof that all controllers fail.

Performance checklist

Steam lists a relatively modest minimum specification: Windows 10, Core i5-8250U, 8 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 620, DirectX 11, and 1 GB storage. If animations become delayed:

1. Compare the device with the current minimum requirements.
2. Close overlays and background capture tools for one test.
3. Verify game files in Steam.
4. Test the same encounter after a clean restart.
5. Record whether the delay affects input, background animation, coin animation, or only the Monster's exit.

Do not claim a background-animation fix unless the developer confirms one. Submit the operating system, GPU, driver, current build, encounter, and a short recording through the game's official community channel.
