A mechanics-first reference for The Judgment, separating the cast timing, Heresy pressure, Exile rescue loop, Zealous state, and three teachable perks.
The Judgment controls Divine Light for up to three seconds, then casts it forward. The live cast can injure Survivors and apply Heresy; a downed Heretic can be sent to Exile instead of a conventional hook interaction. Patch 10.1.0 gives Divine Light a six-second cooldown before Zealous modifiers.
Power flow
- Hold the Power input to summon and steer Divine Light left or right.
- Cast it forward. The activation delay becomes shorter and the active duration becomes longer the more time was spent controlling it.
- A lethal hit injures and applies Heresy. A near miss within 0.5 meters reveals the Survivor with Killer Instinct for two seconds.
- Down an eligible Heretic and choose Exile. Exiling grants a Hook State; a Heretic already on two Hook States can be killed instead.
Heresy, Exile, and Shrines
Heresy can come from Divine Light or from taunting behaviors named in the live notes. A Heretic receives special Skill Checks while repairing generators; a normal “Good” result can lose progress. Survivors can repent at Shrines to reduce Heresy.
When a Heretic enters Exile, the two nearest Shrines activate. Other Survivors can pray at an active Shrine to rescue the Exiled player. Inside Exile, Seeds of Punishment reduce the sacrifice timer when they hit, while collected Exiled Souls can add limited post-rescue protection time.
Exiling a Heretic grants Zealous for sixty seconds. In the live patch, Zealous increases Divine Light size, reduces its cooldown by twenty percent, and gives a small additional control window. This is a temporary power state, not a permanent match upgrade.
The Judgment's perks
- Celestial Witness: periodically reveals the Obsession at long distance; otherwise the farthest Survivor can become the Obsession.
- Hex: Under Your Thumb: lights a Dull Totem after a Survivor first gains a Hook State and limits excessive Haste within range while alerting the Killer.
- Lay Waste: makes damaged generators regress faster according to their existing charge, with a perk cooldown.
These descriptions explain the live rules. A “best build” would need match samples, add-on choices, map context, and the same patch number; it should not be inferred from perk wording alone.
