DayZ Badlands is a paid desert-map expansion scheduled for October 15, 2026. Its 267 km² Nasdara terrain sits west of Chernarus and reaches toward Takistan's frontier. The base game is required. The final US price has not been posted; Bohemia's initial announcement said it intended to price the expansion below $25.

What makes the map different
Nasdara is designed around exposure and scarcity. The official description calls out an arid spring, long drought, limited water, new wildlife and infected, and region-specific equipment. Its landmarks include dense cities, Soviet military compounds, oil infrastructure, and abandoned settlements rather than a simple sand-colored copy of Chernarus.
That changes the questions worth answering before launch. Water access and shelter should matter more, but no final well map, loot route, base location, weapon tier, or temperature calculation can be verified from promotional material. Those belong to the retail version, not this dossier.

Version 1.29 is a bridge update for the base game, not the expansion map. Bohemia reserves version 1.30 for Badlands and its accompanying base-game update. Keeping that distinction clear prevents current Chernarus and Livonia changes from being mislabeled as playable Nasdara content.
