Big Walk Voice Chat Not Working — Mic, Quiet Voice, and Echo Fixes

FIRST CHECK

Check Big Walk's Microphone Activity meter first, then device mute, Mute Mode, moderation, current version, and platform microphone permission.

Open Settings → Audio and watch Microphone Activity while speaking. If the meter does not move, Big Walk is not receiving input: check the headset's physical mute, confirm the mic works in another app, and allow microphone access in the operating system. On macOS, enable Big Walk under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

If the meter moves but friends still cannot hear you, check Mute Mode. With “hold” selected, you must hold the talk control. Then open moderation settings and make sure the affected player is not silenced.

For PS5, press the PS button, open Sound, and turn Mute Game Voice Chat off. For unusually quiet voices, update to version 1.4.8 or later; House House identifies 1.4.8 as the fix for a known quiet-voice problem. Also increase the microphone's system input level and move the mic closer.

Echo or doubled voices usually means a speaker is feeding sound back into a microphone. Have players mute one at a time to locate the loop, then use headphones or mute between speech. Dropping voices accompanied by jittery players points to network or host-performance trouble rather than an input setting.

If voice remains unavailable, text chat is a supported full-game alternative. It still respects distance, walls, and in-world communication devices, so it preserves the intended puzzle rules better than a separate voice app.
