Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is available now on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. The United States Xbox Store still gives September 3, 2026 for Xbox, so “available everywhere” is not accurate on August 26.

What kind of fighter is it?
The game uses hand-drawn 2D animation and 1v1 matches. Each fighter has movement and abilities shaped around an element, weapons, or a non-bender identity. The Flow system controls evasive and movement options; Energy Points fund enhanced specials and Super Arts; three selectable support characters can alter the tools available to the main fighter.
That structure supports quick entry and deeper practice, but it does not justify a universal tier list from publisher descriptions. Training Mode exposes hitboxes, frame data, and save states. Those tools are the right place to test a claim against the current build.
The base game includes 12 fighters, eight stages, Story, Arcade, local and online Versus, Training, Combo Trials, Spectator, and an Art Gallery. The original story was outlined by Avatar creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Tim Hedrick. Year 1 adds five fighters over the season, not five characters already guaranteed to be present in every current install.
