AT A GLANCE

The world connects ruined modern London to a medieval fantasy realm called the Otherworld; current official material does not name that realm Avalon.

Tides of Annihilation connects a ruined modern London to a medieval fantasy realm that official pages call the Otherworld. Gwendolyn crosses between those spaces while searching for the Holy Grail, trying to save her sister, and uncovering what caused the invasion.

Current official material does not name the second realm Avalon. “Avalon” is a plausible Arthurian search term, but the published game language is Otherworld or medieval fantasy realm. Treating Avalon as a confirmed location would add a name the developer has not used.

The two connected versions of the world

RealmWhat is disclosed
Modern LondonFamiliar districts and landmarks damaged and transformed by the invasion
Medieval fantasy realm / OtherworldArthurian influence, ancient magic, and mythical creatures

The developer compares London to a branching tree, with districts and landmarks twisted by the invading force. The two realms are interconnected, but no complete map, district list, fast-travel system, open-world label, or route order is published.

Gwendolyn, Guinevere, and the Grail

Gwendolyn is the protagonist. Xbox's official description says she is searching for the Holy Grail to rescue her sister and restore the world. Earlier PlayStation material describes Grail Shards scattered through the connected realms.

Guinevere enters the current story material as a separate character. The similar names do not indicate a renamed heroine: Gwendolyn remains the playable lead, while Guinevere belongs to the wider Arthurian cast introduced in the “Beneath the Veil” trailer.

Colossal Knights are playable spaces

The enormous roaming knights are more than scenery. Official descriptions say Gwendolyn can:

  • Fight them in large-scale encounters
  • Climb their bodies
  • Explore their surfaces
  • Enter hidden palace-like interiors
  • Uncover the story attached to each one

Those actions define the feature, not a walkthrough. The current sources do not publish every Colossal Knight, exact access points, interior routes, rewards, or completion conditions.
