AT A GLANCE

Gwendolyn can configure two sets with four spectral knights total and swap between them mid-combo; the Tyronoe sequence adds simultaneous control of Sir Lamorak.

Tides of Annihilation's Dual Frontline Battle System lets Gwendolyn configure two sets of spectral knights, with four knights equipped in total. A knight can be summoned for a distinct attack or ability, and the player can swap knights during combat, including in the middle of a combo.

That is the current system-level answer. The developer has not published the final knight list, every ability, damage values, cooldowns, upgrade costs, or a best-knight ranking.

What the disclosed system does

System partOfficially shown or described
Active configurationTwo sets, four knights total
SwitchingFree swaps during battle and mid-combo
PurposeExtend combo chains or change tactical role
Example utilityTime stop and defensive shield
Wider rosterMore than a dozen Knights of the Round Table announced
Player formatSingle-player; knights are game characters, not human co-op partners

The original PlayStation explanation says Gwendolyn can manifest two knights at her side. Charging, defending, and combo support are named roles. The later Xbox breakdown expands the loadout into two swappable sets and four equipped knights.

Sir Lamorak and the Tyronoe fight

Tyronoe is the witch boss in the Xbox Partner Preview sequence. She changes shape, creates clones, and divides the fight with a Mirror Space Folded Realm. Sir Lamorak appears on the other side of that barrier and gives Gwendolyn his spear so she can break the separation.

The encounter then lets the player control Gwendolyn and Lamorak simultaneously, fighting inside and outside the linked spaces. It demonstrates one bespoke use of the knight system. It does not prove that every knight can be controlled directly, that every boss uses two realms, or that Lamorak is permanently playable.

What can wait for the retail build

There is enough official information to explain the combat structure, but not enough to publish a build guide. Exact parry windows, animation cancels, invulnerability frames, boss phases, difficulty settings, skill trees, best knight combinations, and progression routes require the released build or a reproducible public demo.
