The Sorting Bureau System Requirements — Windows, Mac and Steam Cloud

Compare the official Windows and Mac minimums, confirm the 1 GB storage requirement, and separate Steam Cloud support from unverified Linux claims.

The Sorting Bureau officially supports Windows and macOS, needs 4 GB RAM and 1 GB of storage at minimum, and lists Steam Cloud plus save-anytime support. Steam did not list a native Linux build when checked August 22. The requirements below come from the live US store endpoint, not from an estimated requirements site.

Windows minimum

• 64-bit Windows 10 or newer
• Intel Core i3 or AMD Athlon 3000G, dual-core at 2 GHz
• 4 GB RAM
• Intel HD Graphics 520, NVIDIA GeForce GT 730, AMD Radeon R5, or equivalent DirectX 11 graphics with 512 MB VRAM
• DirectX 11
• 1 GB available storage
• DirectX-compatible sound

Steam's recommended Windows section only states that a 64-bit processor and operating system are required; it does not provide a stronger recommended CPU or GPU. Do not invent a recommended target from the trailer. If your hardware is near the minimum, use the store refund policy window to verify your specific resolution and order size.

macOS minimum

• macOS Big Sur 11 or newer
• Apple M1 or Intel Core i3
• 4 GB RAM
• Apple M1 or Intel HD Graphics 5000 with Metal compatibility
• 1 GB available storage

The store provides no populated recommended Mac tier. It also does not list iOS or iPadOS; Steam's “touch-only option” is a control capability, not proof of an App Store mobile release.

Steam Cloud and local safety

Steam marks the game with Steam Cloud and save-anytime support. Cloud support means Steam can synchronize eligible progress; it does not eliminate every conflict. Before switching computers, close the game normally, wait for Steam's synchronization indicator to finish, and confirm that the destination client is online before launching.

If Steam presents a cloud-conflict dialog, compare timestamps rather than automatically selecting one copy. Back up the newer local data before choosing when the consequence is unclear. The official sources checked for this page do not publish a local save-folder path, so this guide does not guess one.

For handheld text and input boundaries, use controls and Steam Deck. If a save or order fails in the current build, report the operating system and exact symptom through the official discussions.
