Twelve sports are confirmed, combining returning Wuhu Island activities, Nintendo Switch Sports events, and Joy-Con 2 controls.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort includes 12 sports at launch:
- Tennis
- Bowling
- Archery
- Boxing
- Volleyball
- Table Tennis
- Basketball
- Golf
- Thumb Wrestling
- Prop Plane
- Skateboarding
- Power Cruising
The list matters because “Wii Sports Resort remake” is not an accurate description. Some activities return from Wuhu Island's history, some overlap with Nintendo Switch Sports, and the overall set includes new Joy-Con 2 implementation.
Skateboarding uses Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. Most of the other sports use motion gestures that treat the controller as a racket, bow, paddle, or similar piece of equipment. The official page says TV and tabletop mode, not ordinary attached-controller handheld play.
Nintendo has not stated that every historical Wii Sports Resort activity returns, so missing older events should not be added from memory. Likewise, a launch list does not prove there will or will not be post-launch sports. This page records the 12 officially named for the product now.
