FC 27 does not turn Career Mode into a conventional open-world game. The feature behind “FC 27 open world” searches is The Grounds, a football playground tied to Clubs and social play.
The distinction matters before buying an older-generation copy. The Grounds is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It is absent from PS4, Xbox One, and the original Nintendo Switch even though those systems receive FC 27.
EA's official description supports a connected playground with Clubs activities, player progression, and social spaces. It does not support claims that players can freely drive between stadiums, walk through a Career city, or replace the traditional menus with one seamless world. “Open world” is therefore useful shorthand for the search, but it is not the accurate product contract.
Players buying primarily for Manager or Player Career should read the Career changes separately. Those modes gain transfer, Dynamic OVR, Creator Challenge, and Rivalry systems without becoming The Grounds.
