A Biter bite starts a persistent infection clock; inspect the timer and published cure options before spending cards or gold.

Treat a Biter bite as a run-level timer, not only the damage from one fight. Deckalypse's official press kit says a bite starts a 15-round infection clock that continues between fights. It also says infection reduces the affected survivor's damage by five percent each round and can eventually turn that survivor against the party.
What to check after a bite
First, read the current round count and decide whether the infected hero is still essential to the next fight. Then inspect the supplies and cards visible in the current build. The official description names cures, cards, gold, and an item that can restore a survivor after turning, but it does not publish a dependable shop schedule, price list, or exact item locations.
The safest decision is therefore evidence-based: record the timer, the available cure option, its visible cost, and what happened after using it. That prevents an old preview or another player's run from becoming a false universal answer.
Block is also described as preventing the bite from landing. When the board permits it, compare the cost of stopping the hit now against spending your remaining energy on a later cure. This is a board-state decision, not a guarantee that block works the same way against every enemy or patch.
If the timer or status wording changes after launch, capture the current screen and build number before reporting a discrepancy. The live interface is the authoritative record for a patch-sensitive condition.
