How to Play Block Out — Doors, Space, and Obstacles

Match each block to its door without consuming the space needed by later blocks; elevators and generators make move order matter.

In Block Out, slide colored blocks to doors of the same color and clear the board. The control is simple; the puzzle is deciding which route must remain open.

The rule in three steps

1. Match every visible block with its same-colored door.
2. Move the block with the fewest usable routes before flexible pieces fill its lane.
3. Leave room for moving elevators and blocks created by generators.

The official quick guide says to position blocks carefully, manage space, and move quickly. That means a correct color match can still be a poor first move if it blocks the path another color needs. Before sliding, look at the narrowest door and the largest piece, then keep one open area available for repositioning.

Block Out changes layouts and adds new levels through updates, so this page explains the stable rules rather than publishing a move list that may not match your screen. Version 907 was the current iOS build when checked August 23, 2026.
